Here’s how to make homemade basil pesto.
Ingredients for pesto:
- 50g Pine nuts
- 80g Basil
- 50g Parmesan
- 150ml Olive oil
- 2 cloves of Garlic
Instructions:
- Cook the Pasta:
- Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve a bit of pasta cooking water before draining.
- Prepare Pesto:
- In a food processor, combine all ingredients but the Olive oil. Pulse until the ingredients are finely chopped.
- With the food processor running, slowly pour in the olive oil until the mixture forms a smooth pesto. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Add red pepper flakes if you desire extra heat.
- Combine Pasta and Pesto:
- In a large bowl, toss the cooked pasta with the Basil pesto until the pasta is evenly coated. If the sauce seems too thick, add a bit of the reserved pasta cooking water.
- Finish and Garnish:
- Garnish with fresh basil or parsley for a burst of color and freshness.
- Serve:
- Plate your Pesto Pasta and enjoy your meal!
