Basil pesto

Here’s how to make homemade basil pesto.

Ingredients for pesto:

  • 50g Pine nuts
  • 80g Basil
  • 50g Parmesan
  • 150ml Olive oil
  • 2 cloves of Garlic

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Pasta:
    • Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve a bit of pasta cooking water before draining.
  2. Prepare Pesto:
    • In a food processor, combine all ingredients but the Olive oil. Pulse until the ingredients are finely chopped.
    • With the food processor running, slowly pour in the olive oil until the mixture forms a smooth pesto. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Add red pepper flakes if you desire extra heat.
  3. Combine Pasta and Pesto:
    • In a large bowl, toss the cooked pasta with the Basil pesto until the pasta is evenly coated. If the sauce seems too thick, add a bit of the reserved pasta cooking water.
  4. Finish and Garnish:
    • Garnish with fresh basil or parsley for a burst of color and freshness.
  5. Serve:
    • Plate your Pesto Pasta and enjoy your meal!
